The background images on this site are from the Bayeux Tapestry which was completed around 1070.  This motif was chosen for the background images because it represents the timeless nature and power of the survival of needlework.

 

The original is located in a special museum in Bayeux, Normandy, France.  It is 20 inches in height and 230 feet long.
